falliblism: the best idea yet

There is no known authority or process that can confer certainty on the truth or falsity of an idea, or confer certainty on the probability of an idea being true. That implies that no idea, person, or institution should be shielded from criticism, because any idea, person, or institution may be arbitrarily wrong. Certainty should be scrubbed from our thinking.
