are marxists really the incels of economics?

Only in that both incels and marxists elevate the mundane fact that folks will often exploit power asymmetries to their (and their families’) benefit to a totalizing worldview orbiting a single perceived systematic power asymmetry. In both cases they neglect consent as a ginormous check on the severity of exploitation and instead conflate consent-constrained exploitation with naked force.

So long as people are free and harbor any degree of selfishness or familyishness, exploitation will exist. One of the differences between a healthy society and a sick society is the degree to which exploitation is limited by norms and laws protecting consent.
